Our first love, our favorite job.
Graphic design is born out of a need to make something look better, to present the information in a better way and to create enjoyable and engrossing images. We gather inspiration for these things from everywhere, and continue to learn and grow as new concepts and technologies are developed. Below is a sample of some of the stuff we have made for clients and for our own enjoyment.
CreativeMornings San Diego Chapter
Designed for the San Diego chapter of CreativeMornings, this wonderful two-sided t-shirt s a call-back to artists like Saul Bass and mid-century modern design. It features the SD chapter color, a two color graphic on the front, with an expanded version on the back. Available for sale either through this site or in person at the next CreativeMornings event.
Branding for Cocoon Hair Studio
For this work, we incorporated a custom photo shoot by the always talented and visionary Ash & Arrow Photography. Bridging over from the previous iteration of Cocoon's branding, we wanted to keep the same geological/geometric feel, but add strategic elements to bring it together with the photos.

Kit for SourceIntelligence cycling team - Pedal The Cause
Front and back views of a cycling team jersey created for Pedal The Cause. Combined, the riders raised over $40,000 for cancer research and treatment, as a member of the board of investors was a man named Gil Friesen. Friesen, a co-founder of Rolling Stone magazine, passed away in 2012 of cancer, and became the inspiring rally symbol for the team, dubbed Team Gil. Across the team name, Gil's famous signature is visible.
A rocket launched from two worlds
Grey Deville's music is highly reminiscent of the crooning country songs of the dusty golden era of cowboys, but carrying along with it a superb and clean sound from a world apart. His sound lies deep within the traditions of both Mexico City and Nashville.
For Grey, we created an entire branding campaign, complete with hand-lettered logo, several photography sessions with the great Ash & Arrow Photography, and a fully custom website.
Keeping true to the roots is de rigeur for country musicians looking for exposure, even though the landscape of the music industry has changed completely. With this new landscape in mind, we created Grey's site to be a media center and news outlet. The imagery and lettering hearken back to the days that are being relived in the romanticism of Grey's music.
The site incorporates multi-media playback, social media integration and custom language translation capabilities.
"A poster party for bicycle people."
Artcrank was born out of a love for bicycles and design, two ideas that certainly go well together for us. As the headline above states (taken directly from the website), the main objective is to design a great poster. The roster of featured artists continues to impress every year, and we are lucky to have been invited to be regular contributors since 2011. The event is now a global phenomenon.
The rules for submission are incredibly specific, allowing for only two print methods to be used; artists must have their posters screen printed or letterpressed. This means that the fewer number of colors used the better, causing the artist to constantly rethink and de-clutter the design in order to create something clean, fresh and absolutely effective.
Following the conclusion of the show every year, we make the posters available for the public through this website. If you are interested in purchasing a hand signed and numbered limited edition Artcrank poster, please fill out the form to the right. Posters are $60 prepaid (shipping included) and usually ship within 24 hours.
BOHO Chic
For this project, we created a lookbook for master stylists Mai Ling of Cocoon Hair Studio and Angelica of Angelica B Beauty. We were incredibly fortunate to work with such skilled beauticians and had a wonderful time doing it. We continue to work with these talented ladies and have more great work to show you coming soon.
Promotional Material
The arrangement of information drives and manipulates how we perceive the world around us, and can be one of the most rewarding challenges to undertake. Working in print media is something we love. We have a great deal of experience in layout editing and journalism. We work with clients to prioritize and optimize the presentation of materials, and work closely from conception to delivery. Maintenance of the company image and entity is a specialty, and we always adhere to company stylebook guidelines.
